Excellent!! It reminds me of the Santa Monica fish house. Everything was good! I had the fish and chips....but what really knocked me out was the Clam chowder!!!!! The chunks of bacon-astounding! We came for a staycation during the Memorial Holiday Weekend....our server was so sweet....the atmosphere was a plus too! Glad we came. And when we come to "old town" San Diego again....we will come again....

My family & I have been here a few times over the years because the food never disappoints (& I have some picky eaters in my family) lol but today we had the most wonderful service on top of the already delicious food! Anthony gave us really interesting fun facts about the origin of some of the foods on top of getting into detail about some of the flavors we were expecting with new dishes. You can tell he enjoys what he does & wanted to connect with us. What an amazing experience, we will definitely request him in the future 10/10

I have been here twice and loved both times. The service the second time I went started off not so good. It took forever to get just our drinks ordered. When we finally did it took forever to get them. Our waiter also forgot about our bread and never asked if we wanted refills on our drink. It wasn't crowded either. Later on it did get better though. We were there for over 2 hours and that was mainly waiting to get our food/ drinks ordered and our food. But the food is always delicious and worth the wait! If I rated it my first experience it would be 4 stars but my last experience would be 3.5. There is a lot of seating and everything is very clean.

Third location, my wife and i have tried. None of them disappointed. The interior is very fish house feel woth elegance. Perfect date night. The service was impeccable. We did sit at the bar. Had the oyster sampler dozen. 10/10. Every oyster was delicious. Great shucking no she'll! All sauces are great. I had the lemon crusted local sea bass. 8.6/10. Good sauce and crust. Just not as good as the Chilean. Wife had the clams and pasta. 10/10 her favorite dosh and score. Deep broth and comforting. The Brussel sprouts are to die for please get them! Great mac n cheese as well 10/10 sprouts 8.8/10 mac n cheese. Update 5-12-24. We came back for lunch. Iyster menu was different than yesterday. Mac n cheese had an overnight change and was creamy and perfection. I upgrade to a 9.5/10 on the mac. Service is great can't wait to be back

Went here to celebrate my Birthday. While the place isn't cheap, the food is good for the money. Last time I came here I really enjoyed trying different kinds of oysters. While they are not as inexpensive as those oyster happy hours at some places, it's great to be able to try so many different kinds. I always find some kinds that I really enjoy. I just need to keep better track of which ones I really like in the future so I can order those ones again. The Sushi was tasty and the old fashioned drink with 4 Roses small batch was decent too. I got lobster as the main course, but we also enjoyed some tasty chicken wings etc. Service was ok. Environment is decorated in the typical seafood decor. Not too noisy, and a good place to dine. It is located near the mall. Parking around the restaurant can get crowded but both times I have gone I managed to find a space too far away.

I have been here many times and we keep coming back because the food is always good. We like to order their oysters, they are absolutely tasty and hit the spot when we are craving good oysters. The sourdough bread is so good, we always order multiple loafs. Our last visit there was to celebrate my husband's birthday. We were seated right away and started the evening with a dozen oysters, wings, and a lobster sushi roll. My husband ordered a large lobster from the tank and I had the sirloin steak with a lobster tail with 2 sides of cauliflower and asparagus. Everything was cooked just right and the portions were a good size. We also got a free birthday dessert, we ordered the cheesecake...so good. The cocktails are also very good, I ordered a agave sting and an old fashioned drink. The reason for only 4 stars instead of 5 is because service is hit or miss. The last person that served us, Raquel, was unfriendly and grouchy the whole time she was waiting on us, it was hard to try to talk with her because she seemed like she didn't want to work there. And she would disappear for a long period of time, delaying our food and drink order. Overall, we will come back hopefully to better service.

Haven't seen this restaurant packed with customers in a long time. Glad we had reservations. Must be for the Sundays I use to meet my friends for an early lunch when we had season tickets. We never needed reservations but I had a hunch we might on a Friday evening especially during the Lent season. My go to is always Clam Chowder and their Sourdough Bread. Last night was no exception. It was a bit late for me to dine but for sure I wanted their bread. It came warm and was moist inside and crispy on the outside. I was going to venture out and try something new but I let my friends do that and opted for the Blackened Shrimp Taquitos. Crisp, crunchy and delicious. My friends enjoyed their selections of Clams Linguine, Seafood Cobb, Lobster Roll and MahiMahi Tacos. A couple ordered the Bread Pudding that looked awesome. A must try on my next visit. Service was okay. My friend thought our server might have been new to the job. We were seated at a nice round table for our party of five which pleased everyone. Coming back for chowder and sourdough and something I've yet to order!

I've been saving this review for some time, mulling over in my mind how to adequately express the phenomenal experience we were treated to here at King's Fish House. In the company of my wife's friends, we were utterly spoiled beyond measure, and I can safely say that our meal here was one of the finest dining experiences we have ever had. Hands down. Bar none. This restaurant could not be more appropriately named, for we were truly treated like Kings (and Queens)! I am generally wary of any restaurant situated in what basically amounts to a glorified strip mall, but my expectations were utterly demolished by the incredible array of appetizers, entrées and cocktails that were ordered and shared across our humble table: Spiny Lobster. Sautéed barbecue shrimp. A dozen oysters of all shapes and sizes. Chilean Miso Sea Bass. A King Crab of absurd proportions. In total, more food than the six of us could tackle in a single sitting, despite our valiant attempts, with each individual entrée worthy of a Michelin star! And as if we weren't spoilt enough, every member of the staff with whom we interacted was not only professional, polite, and welcoming, but went over the top to ensure that our experience was as close to regal treatment as we will likely ever come. From the unparalleled kitchen manager, Charles (who introduced each dish with information on how it is sourced, prepared and served), to our creative and generous bartender Marcé, and our welcoming and spirited server Carlos, I have rarely, if ever, encountered tradesmen with a better understanding of how to make their customers feel truly special. Whomever is selecting and training these individuals deserves as much praise and credit as the employees themselves. I know...if this review were any more glowing, it would likely be radioactive. But every adjective, exclamation and exhortation is honestly deserved, and more, even beyond my limited vocabulary and whatever character limit Yelp might impose on this already wordy review. And this is coming from someone who, historically, has never enjoyed seafood in the way that, when prepared by true masters, as here at King's Fish House, it apparently deserves. I guess I've just been going to the wrong places. Going forward, I won't be making that mistake again, and neither should you. In short, only one seafood place is worthy of a crown, and King's Fish House is that restaurant. Hail to the King, baby!
